The big Elite troopers (in a variety of colors, no less) begin to offer more of a challenge as they're protected by armor and capable of beating the crap out of you if you get too close. The shield-carrying Jackals are next on the list and their forward-facing protection and tendency to roll from side-to-side while dodging your fire forces you to adopt entirely different tactics when facing them. Left alone on the battlefield, these grunts will scurry off to gather their courage before attacking you again. You can even intimidate these tiny guys by taking out the large enemies first. The basic grunt units of the Covenant are small, chicken-like aliens who rely on numbers to overwhelm the player. Along the way you'll meet a range of enemies who all exhibit very distinct behaviors. Suffice it to say that the whole style and presentation of the story is good enough to stand on its own - a quality few game plots possess. The player is forced to crash land on an alien ring world and uncover the secret of its purpose. The player steps into the shoes of an elite soldier just as his ship is attacked by an alien force known as the Covenant. Boasting a story that draws the player in to an alien world, Halo presents us with enough information and background to keep things interesting while still allowing for real surprises. Most video game science-fiction is of fairly low quality and, thankfully, Halo is the exception to the rule. That, as you'll see later in the review, is both a blessing and a curse for the PC version of Halo: Combat Evolved. The pacing, the weapons, the enemies and, in fact, the entire content of the game, is exactly as it was when we played it a couple of years ago. Gearbox's conversion (which is a nicer word than "port") preserves much of what I loved about the original game. To further bare my soul, I suppose I should also tell you that I've been excited about this game since it was first demoed to us four years ago (as a PC-only Tribes-killer, no less). I'll try to straddle the fence as best I can in the review but, just so my bias is out in the open right away, I'll tell you that I'm a definite fan of the Xbox version of the game. One is as a fan of the Xbox version another is as a player completely unaware that the game even existed. So there are a few ways to approach the review of Halo: Combat Evolved.

2,2 also serves as a transition into Katon, allowing for the same mind games as the 1,1 transition. Even if you try to take your turn after the 2,2, Kunimitsu can continue into the 2,2,2,2, a natural combo on CH. It's a high-mid natural combo, super fast at i12, and has decent tracking. 2,2 - One of Kunimitsu's defining moves.Like the jabs, it's good for checking your opponents and poking away at them. The last two hits are a natural combo on hit, and the whole string can be counter-hit confirmed from the df1. df1,2,2 - If the opponents try to duck or attack after df1, use this string.df1,3 - If df1 is a CH, it becomes a natural combo, but if 3 is a CH, it becomes a full launch.Once opponents respect the mental frame advantage of the follow-ups, you can use it to expand your pressure and bully them.
As we have listened to these customers over the last few years, a consistent theme they echo is the increased complexity of their environments, and a desire for consistency, simplicity, reliability, compatibility. These audiences have informed the investments we have made in Internet Explorer in the past, and now inform the investments we make in Microsoft Edge. Historically, Microsoft has focused on three primary constituencies: end-users, developers, and enterprises/organizations. Our intent is profoundly informed by our context. Our plan is to engage in a way that embraces the well-established open source model that’s been working effectively for years: meaningful and positive contributions which align with long-standing thoughtfully-designed architecture, collaborative engineering, and keeping in mind that we, together as a community, seek the best outcome for all people who use the web across many devices. We’ve written down our “OSS Principles for Microsoft Edge” below and “What Happens Next” to clearly outline our approach to contributions. In that context, we have been thinking through plans to adopt the Chromium open source project in the development of Microsoft Edge on the desktop to create better web-compatibility for our customers and less fragmentation of the web for all its developers, and we’re now ready to move forward.Īs part of this, we hope and intend to become a significant contributor to Chromium, in a way that can make not just Microsoft Edge - but other browsers as well - better on both PCs and other devices. ANGLE, Web Audio, Brotli) and we’ve begun making contributions to the Chromium project to help move browsing forward on new ARM-based Windows devices. We’ve also used open source for various features of Microsoft Edge on the desktop (e.g. Our new mobile browser has been based on open source from its beginnings over a year ago. Working with open source is not new for Microsoft Edge. And of course, we and all those audiences care primarily about the end-user, who is ultimately the audience this work is intended to benefit. The audiences we think will find this document most relevant and useful are (a) the people working on Chromium as approvers/maintainers and leading that project (b) the companies and engineers who build other browsers and will be interested in the contributions we plan to make, and (c) the broader community of web developers, corporate IT managers and partners we work with on Windows and Microsoft Edge. This document exists to clarify our thinking on how that work will proceed: we want to explain our plans and intentions related to Microsoft Edge and the Chromium open-source project. We are starting down a path to adopt Chromium open source in the development of Microsoft Edge on the desktop, becoming a larger contributor and user of its open source so that we can create better web compatibility for our customers and less fragmentation of the web for all web developers. Microsoft Edge and Chromium Open Source: Our Intentįor the past few years, Microsoft has meaningfully increased participation in the open source software (OSS) community, becoming one of the world’s largest supporters of OSS projects. The 2011 campaign was one of the most prolific seasons of Rodgers career. Rodgers also became the first player in NFL history to pass for at least 900 yards and rush for at least two touchdowns in a single postseason. His stellar performance earned him Super Bowl MVP honors. In 2010, Rodgers threw for 3,922 yards, 28 touchdowns, 11 interceptions, and a passer rating of 101.2, leading the Green Bay Packers to a Super Bowl XLV victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. After his inaugural campaign as a starter, he followed up in 2009 with for 4,434 yards and 30 touchdowns, earning a trip to his first Pro Bowl, and becoming the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for 4,000 yards in both of his first two seasons as a starter. He threw for 4,038 yards and 28 touchdowns. Wide receiver Donald Driver commented that Rodgers took “every scout-team possession like it was the last possession of his life.”Īfter backing up Brett Favre for the first three years of his NFL career, Rodgers became the Packers’ starting quarterback in 2008. The defense and scouts often noted how hard he was practicing, and at one point asked him to tone it down. Rodgers said this was critical to his success, and that those were his game reps. Though Rodgers played very little in his rookie season, he ran the scout team during practice. Rodgers’s going to the Packers was a clear indication the organization was looking to groom him to become the starter after future Hall-of-Famer Brett Favre retires. The 49ers, however, drafted quarterback Alex Smith out of Utah instead, and Rodgers went 24th overall to the Green Bay Packers. Aaron impressed NFL scouts who labeled him a “talented strong-armed Junior who combines arm strength, mechanics and delivery to make all the throws.” Before the draft, Rodgers was confident that he would be drafted to the team he supported and grew up near, the San Francisco 49ers, who possessed the No. Rodgers decided to forgo his senior season to enter the 2005 NFL Draft. His 66.1% pass completion percentage led the Pac-10. Overall, he finished the 2004 season with 2,566 passing yards, 24 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. He set a Cal single-game record for passing completion percentage of 85.3. In that game, Rodgers set a school record for consecutive completed passes with 26 and tied an NCAA record with 23 consecutive passes completed in one game. Rodgers tied the school season record for 300-yard games with five.Īs a junior, Rodgers led Cal to a 10-1 record and top-five ranking at the end of the regular season, with their only loss a 23-17 loss at No. Rodgers passed for 394 yards and was named game MVP in the Insight Bowl against Virginia Tech. As a sophomore, he helped lead the Golden Bears to a 7-3 record as a starter. He was named the starting quarterback in the fifth game of the 2003 season, against the only team that offered him a Division I opportunity out of high school, Illinois. Because of Rodgers’s good high school scholastic record, he was eligible to transfer after one year of junior college instead of the typical two.Īs a junior college transfer, Rodgers had three years of eligibility at Cal. Tedford was surprised to learn that Rodgers had not been recruited earlier. While there, he was discovered by the California Golden Bears’ head coach Jeff Tedford, who was recruiting Butte tight end Garrett Cross. Rodgers threw 26 touchdowns in his freshman season at Butte Community College, leading the school to a 10-1 record, the NorCal Conference championship, and a No. Idolizing Joe Montana, he would wear a Montana t-shirt underneath his uniform. After deciding to continue his passion of football, Aaron went the community college route and attended Butte Community College in Oroville about 15 miles of Chico. He declined the invitation and considered quitting football to attend law school. The only offer he received was to walk-on at the University of Illinois. Rodgers had wanted to attend Florida State and play under head coach Bobby Bowden but did not receive a scholarship. He graduated from Pleasant Valley High School in spring 2002.ĭespite his record-setting high school statistics, Rodgers attracted little interest from Division I programs. He was a star pitcher with a fastball clocking in at over 90mph. If it wasn’t for his talents on the football field, Aaron could have made it as a baseball player. Rodgers set a single-season school record with 2,466 total yards in 2001. He set single-game records of six touchdowns and 440 all-purpose yards. He attended Pleasant Valley High School, starting for two years at quarterback, garnering 4,421 passing yards and two all-section choice honors (2000-01). Aaron Rodgers was born on December 2nd,1983 in Chico, California and currently plays Quarterback in the NFL.Īaron was a huge sports fan growing up, nicknamed “Hurley” after his admiration for Sacramento Kings basketball player, Bobby Hurley. “A space mission is quite the ask, so in the early 2000s, and I began to scope out the cosmology reach of a space telescope. This Starlink launch will add to the growing constellation of thousands of SpaceX satellites providing space-based internet worldwide.Lift off, the first of July. When it happens, the Falcon 9’s first stage booster will return to Earth and land on the droneship called "Of Course I Still Love You" stationed in the Pacific Ocean. The original launch date was earlier in the week but had to be pushed due to the state getting slammed by a parade of atmospheric rivers. On Thursday, January 19, the company will try to launch another Falcon 9 with 51 Starlink satellites from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. Satellite operator OneWeb plans to deliver global high-speed internet in 2023 with a constellation of satellites similar to SpaceX's Starlink service. The sonic booms from the rocket landings have been known to travel as far inland as the Orlando area. Those on Florida's Space Coast could likely hear and feel the Falcon 9 booster when it broke the sound barrier on reentry. After liftoff, the first stage Falcon 9 booster landed at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, making the second launch and landing for the rocket. This part of the fight plays out almost exactly like the first phase. Once you’ve caused her Structure to break, use a finisher and then phase two will begin. That’s how weak she is to standard attacks. In total, you should only need to repeat the cycle four or five times. If she winds up her flail, either block or run around the attack as you close in for a few strikes. She only attacks with her flail, so you won’t need to worry about learning any complex moves or animation patterns. The nice thing about this fight is that all of Jinfeng’s attacks are easily telegraphed since she has to wind up each time she uses her flail. Then, approach her like you’ve been doing and unleash the Strong Sweep attack to deal more damage. Continue this process until your Focus meter is full. Getting close to Jinfeng is tough, but once you do, she's a pushover.Īfter you’ve started the cycle over again, keep rotating around and approaching Jinfeng, while moving past or blocking her flail attacks. She can easily take you down with just a couple of swipes. For instance, if your Structure is close to breaking, it might make more sense to run around her attack instead of blocking, because otherwise, you’d run the risk of becoming stunned. It’s worth noting that blocking her flail will also increase her Structure, as well as yours, so you’ll want to plan accordingly throughout the fight. Remember, as long as you curve around her instead of running head on, you’ll be in good shape. Though, if you have to block them, you should do that rather than getting hit. While we do recommend blocking these moves, doing so will increase your Structure, so it’s sometimes a good idea to run around them if possible. As always, get a few attacks in, then back away to avoid her flail attack. You should only have to deal with two or three flail attacks before getting close to her and once you do, she doesn’t put up much of a fight. The key with this fight is to block or run around her flail attacks while rotating around to her side. After all, she’s a little old lady and you can take her, right? Well, you’ll notice if you run at her head-on, she’ll swipe you with her flail, and at first, it seems like nothing you can do will stop her. Your gut reaction with this fight might be to run straight at her to begin attacking. Here’s how to take down Jinfeng, the boss in The Tower level of Sifu. Instead, you must utilize a different tactic to get close to this boss and once you do, she’s highly susceptible to standard attacks. After pummeling away on bosses like Fajar, Sean, and Kuroki, you might want to use similar tactics to take down Jinfeng, but doing so will put you at a disadvantage. You'll need to rethink your strategy that has gotten you this far. The fourth Sifu boss, known as Jinfeng (The CEO), is a tricky one, simply because she’s hard to hit. |
